| ...I find a motel, sack out and I am on the road by 2pm... I get thru asheville, and head for knoxville and get on Rt. 75 and relax 'cause this should be no problem. But 5 gours later I started seeing signs for Atlanta and that was the giveaway - I went the wrong way on 75 - I should have gone north; no worries, I called the dude, he found "the local" right in Chattanooga so I went in played an open mic and got back on the road north to kentucky... and I'll be back at the local in June...the great thing about 'nooga was right downtown... next to the local, right on the main street, on the sidewalk, was a huge rib smoker - just sitting on the sidewalk, with smoke coming out of the top andribs inside... whoa! |

Once on the road, the drive up to Richmond was pretty easy after I got out of chattanooga and I pulled in around 4am and got myself a budget inn - which I love because it is so barely trailer trash and it's easy and no hassel getting in and if you get in late you can always make a deal... and I got up around 5, went in to town to the livewire, got all set up and walked around for a bit. Yup, this is Kentucky,,, and it is Fridy night so it should be fun and I am the only act on the bill so lookin' forward to it... the town is strangely empty... this is not a city, it's more like a small farming town but there is a big school here - UK, so it might be fun. The great thing about these odd rooms is the chance to try out new material to a fresh crowd.,. so at 9pm, it's show time... |
