MILWAUKEE

I am in milwaukee in a heartbeat after chicago and it's cool because there are roads that go right there... it always looks like it's part of chicago, northside and cicero avenue blending illinois inta wisconcsin; no jam, so I head over to the art bar, check in, check it out, and then find the bremen cafe and head on over... it's rules of the road I got from John lee Hooker: if you ain't playin' yo' payin' so I do every open mic I can when I have an off night...

I find the bremen cafe and it is so cool, so music focused, and so lacking in attitude... the open mic is in full swing and there are some very cool, very fun players... so I sign up and do a few tunes and the place closes - it's already pretty late and I head over to the RiverWest part of town and find a cheap motel and sack out...

BREMEN & ARTBAR

The next day I am at the artbar early, setting up and making sure it all works and rocks... they have me for two shows - an early show and a late 3 hour set... no worries. If you are on the road to play, then that's what the deal is all about and the room is beautiful, the sound is great and the stage is centered nicely and it is such an easy gig... and what's even more amazing is the owner is so hip and into the music and so ficused on the art side of it all that it just makes for a great night... plus a few folks from the bremen cafe from the night before show up and are very, very fun and the whole gang is pretty well behaved... it gets a little more crazy later in the evening but no chicken wire goes up so we're still ok...
